Wilson College presents

Marcia Wolfson Ray

On Monday, September 14, Wilson College will open an exhibition of Marcia Wolfson Ray’s artwork in the Cooley Gallery. The exhibition will showcase two- and three-dimensional work of Wolfson Ray, primarily a sculptor, who investigates processes of transformation and evolution of materials. The exhibition will run through Dec. 11, 2026, and is open to the public at no cost.

Marcia Wolfson Ray will deliver a public talk on Wednesday, September 16, at 2 p.m. in the Cooley Gallery. A reception will follow.

The exhibition is opening during the Library’s regular hours, Sunday 3-11 p.m., Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m.-11 p.m., and Friday 7:45 a.m.-5 p.m. The Library is closed on Saturday.

About the Cooley Gallery

The Sue Davison Cooley Gallery is an exhibition venue to the Wilson College community. Located on the second floor of the beautifully renovated John Stewart Memorial Library, Cooley Gallery provides space for students and professional artists to share their creative voice with a community of scholars. Professional artist exhibitions typically run for an entire semester, while student and resident artist exhibitions run during summer months.

The Cooley Gallery is named in honor of Wilson alumna Sue Davison Cooley ’44, a Portland, OR area philanthropist and Wilson College benefactor. Like Bogigian Gallery, Cooley is a crucial teaching tool for fine arts program and mission, with a commitment to excellence and professionalism in each exhibition.

Cooley Gallery is open Sunday 3-11 p.m., Monday through Thursday 7:45 a.m.-11 p.m., and Friday 7:45 a.m. -5 p.m. The Library is closed on Saturday. Admission is free. For additional information or an appointment, contact Philip Lindsey, Cooley Gallery Curator, via email.
