Wilson College Students Receive Scholarships for Animal-Related Studies Five Wilson College students will each receive a $3,000 scholarship from a grant awarded by The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) for the 2024-2025 academic year. Wilson Takes National Championship in Open Reigning The 2023-2024 equestrian season ended with Wilson College making unprecedented marks as Julie Warnick ‘26 (New Oxford, Pa.) won the national championship in open reining. Wilson Expands Equestrian Program and Appoints a New Director of Equestrian Teams The College’s equestrian program has added a Western riding team to its already established hunt seat team and has appointed a new Director of Equestrian Teams, Cathy Woosley Luse, to oversee them. Both teams will transition from college club teams to competing at the full varsity level with other schools within the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). “Our equestrian program is one of the signature experiences at Wilson,” president Wes Fugate said. Thoroughbred Foundation Awards Grant for Scholarships The Thoroughbred Education and Research Foundation (TERF) has awarded Wilson College a $16,000 grant to provide $4,000 scholarships for four students with animal-related majors, including veterinary medical technology (VMT), animal studies, equestrian studies, equine-facilitated therapeutics and equine journalism. Wilson College Receives Grant for Summer Therapeutic Riding Program Wilson College was recently awarded a $3,000 grant from the Jean Morrow Fund of the Franklin County Foundation (FCF) that will enable the college’s therapeutic riding program for special-needs residents to continue through the summer.
