Animal Studies Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of their program curricula, students who complete a major in Animal Studies will demonstrate that they are: 

• able to examine a variety of fields of study as they relate to animals, which may include
  • ethology, psychology, and behaviorism,
  • environmental studies and ecology, and
  • written communication.
• able to explore the ramifications of the animal-human bond, such as
  • how humans benefit from animal interactions, and
  • benefits and drawbacks of human-animal interactions for the animals.
• able to display a deep understanding of ethics related to animals, by
  • evaluating the complexities of ethical situations from multiple perspectives, and
  • committing to lifelong ethical learning and practice
